Double Bill & Meal
The Penguin Lessons & What We Did on Our Holiday We start our season opening double bill of comedy-dramas with The Penguin Lessons. A film inspired by the true story of Tom Michell (Steve Coogan), a disillusioned Englishman who went to work in a school in Argentina in 1976.
Expecting an easy ride, Tom discovers a divided nation and a class of unteachable students. However, after he rescues a penguin from an oil-slicked beach, his life is turned upside-down.
After our meal break, we return for more travels, this time closer to home with the feelgood What We Did on Our Holiday.
While visiting family for a big birthday celebration in the Scottish Highlands, a troubled couple (played by Rosamund Pike and David Tennant) try to put on a happy face, but their three children innocently reveal their parents’ biggest secrets to their Granddad (Billy Connolly).
