Sunday May 4th, eight children (and a couple of younger siblings) from the eco – club at Bishop Pursglove Primary School, Tideswell took part in a river clean on the brook that runs through the village. There was a lot of enthusiasm and no slope was too steep and no stone left un turned in the children’s determination to ensure that every scrap of rubbish was removed from the site.
This activity was part of a wider project by the eco-club to earn a green flag for the school by raising awareness and looking after the environment. The children chose their own priorities ‘marine’, ‘biodiversity’ and ‘litter’.
This river clean was part of the marine topic as any rubbish dropped in or near the brook could end up in the ocean.
