Rebuilding a dry stone wall
Twelve volunteers, who are trained in dry stone walling, spent another weekend with us at the end of July rebuilding a substantial length of dilapidated wall to an excellent standard. The group was led by Billy McCallum of the Dry Stone Walling Association. We are very grateful to all of them for their time, skill and effort. We look forward to their visit in July 2026.
Pickleball has landed in Tideswell!
We are very appreciative of Paul Andrew with Joe Andrew and Craig Read cleaning the ‘single’ or ‘netball’ court near the skate park in Tideswell Community Park to prepare it for three pickleball courts. This meant we could organise a taster session instructed by Alan McGill, Club and Participation Development Office DD District Council was attended by 12 people. They learnt a lot about how to play and had fun. An informal group has been set up who now meet on Monday afternoons and Friday mornings. Plans are afoot for four 1 hour weekly coaching sessions for beginners. If you are interested to join or find out more either text Sarah Hargreaves on 07957 414358 or email tidzapickleball@gmail.com
